Jim Whitehurst

President and Chief Executive Officer at Red Hat

Jim Whitehurst has recently been named as President and Chief Executive Officer of Red Hat.

Whitehurst joined Delta Airlines in 2002, serving in various roles, most recently as Chief Operating Officer, responsible for Operations, Sales and Customer Service, Network and Revenue Management, Marketing and Corporate Strategy. Prior to joining Delta, Whitehurst served as Vice President and Director of The Boston Consulting Group (BCG) and held various leadership roles in their Chicago, Hong Kong, Shanghai and Atlanta offices.

A native of Columbus, Ga., Whitehurst graduated from Rice University in Houston, Texas, with a bachelor's degree in Computer Science and Economics. He also attended Friedrich-Alexander University in Erlangen, Germany, holds a general course degree from the London School of Economics and an MBA from Harvard Business School.

Whitehurst, 40, is married with two children.

Gartner Vice President and distinguised analyst

Yefim Natis is a vice president and Gartner distinguished analyst in Gartner Research. Mr. Natis' research focuses on enterprise software infrastructure, including such technologies as application servers, application platform suites, integration middleware and TP Monitors. Mr. Natis also researches the fundamental software architectures, including event-driven architecture, service-oriented architecture and Web services, COM/COM+, .NET, J2EE and CORBA. Prior to joining Gartner, Mr. Natis worked at Magna Software, where he was director of software architecture and the principal architect of MAGNA X, a generator of service-oriented transaction-processing applications. Mr. Natis' experience also includes IT architecture and IT management positions at Hogan Systems and Citigroup. He has 26 years of experience in enterprise IT.   Sacha Labourey

Sacha Labourey

Vice President, Engineering, Middleware Business at Red Hat

Born in Neuchatel, Switzerland, in 1975, Sacha Labourey is the CTO of JBoss, a division of Red Hat. In 2003, Sacha founded JBoss Group (Europe) SàRL (in Switzerland) and became JBoss's General Manager for the EMEA region, participating in the recruitment of some of the key JEMS products (jBPM, Drools) and driving the acquisition of the Arjuna Transaction Monitor from Arjuna Technologies and HP. Sacha was also responsible for the first implementation of load-balancing/fail over for JBoss. Prior to the JBoss, Inc., he was the founder of Cogito Informatique, a Swiss consulting firm company working in the application server and middleware fields. Mr. Labourey is a graduate of the Swiss Federal Institute of Technology graduate computer science program.

The ES7000 program is the growth engine for Unisys and has driven unparalleled levels of performance, scalability, and reliability into the enterprise computing space. The RTI Solutions are integrated business solutions (hardware, software, services, and storage) to solve the most compelling business problems.

Max Yankelevich is responsible for Strategic Technology Direction and Business Development at Vivat. Mr.Yankelevich is a seasoned Architect with over 15 years of hands-on experience in large scale, distributed applications, Service Oriented Architecture and Enterprise Integration. Prior to joining Vivat, Mr. Yankelevich provided Architectural guidance to Fortune 500 companies, such as JP Morgan Chase, Credit Suisse, AIG, Deutsche Bank, ADP and Amerada Hess. Mr. Yankelevich holds a BA in Computer Science from Massachusetts Institute of Technology.

Gavin King is the creator of Hibernate and Seam. He's now leading Red Hat's effort to build a Unified development platform of programming model, frameworks and tooling for Java. He's Red Hat representative for the EJB, JPA, JSF specifications and spec lead of the Web Beans specification.

Tom Baeyens

Founder jBPM project and lead on JBoss jBPM

Tom Baeyens is the founder and lead developer of JBoss jBPM, the leading open source workflow management system. He represents JBoss in the expert groups JSR207 "process definition for java" and JSR208 "java business integration". Tom is a frequent speaker on Java and BPM at international conferences and he’s the author of the articles "Graph Oriented Programming", "The State of Workflow" and "Open source workflow and the BPM-market".

Bela Ban  

Bela Ban

Founder of JGroups and JBoss Cache

Bela Ban joined JBoss in 2003 and currently leads the Clustering team as well as the JGroups project, which he created. Prior to JBoss, Bela worked on NMS/EMS for Fujitsu Network Communications. He received a Ph.D. in network management from the University of Zurich and, following some time at IBM Research, completed a post-doctorate at Cornell University. Bela’s interests include network protocols, performance, group communication, trail running, biking, and beerathlons. When not hacking code he spends time with his family.

Mark Little  

Director of Standards and Development Manager for the Transactions and ESB

Dr. Mark Little is Technical Development Manager and Director of Standards at JBoss/Red Hat. Before joining JBoss, Mark was Chief Architect and Director at Arjuna Technologies, a spin-off from Hewlett-Packard specializing in reliable middleware. Prior to Arjuna, he was Distinguished Engineer at Hewlett-Packard, where he led the transactions team. Mark has published numerous books and articles and spoken at conferences and workshops for nearly 20 years.

Founder and lead developer of JBoss Portal

Julien Viet is the founder and project lead of JBoss Portal. He has been working with Java portal and CMS technologies and was a contributor to the JBoss Application Server project. Julien is a member of the Expert Groups for Portlet Specification 2.0 (JSR-286), Content Repository for Java Technology API 2.0 (JSR-283), and Portlet Bridge Specification for JavaServer Faces (JSR-301 ).
