The end of the year is fast approaching, and with it comes the double XP weekend. This extra boost can be a huge help to your Fortnite skills if you’re just getting into the game, or if you’ve been playing for years but haven’t quite reached the top tier. That’s why we asked one of our writers to share some tips on how to get the most out of this bonus XP.
In addition to getting a massive increase in XP over the usual amount, the end-of-year double XP event also means that everyone who has played at least one match during the month will receive an additional reward. If you’re not familiar with these rewards, you can find out more here.
If you want to know exactly what you’ll be rewarded with, check out our article below which shows you everything you need to know about the double XP event. It includes details on when the event will take place, what you need to do to claim your rewards, and how much XP you’ll be awarded for each match.
- Know Your Stats Before You Start Playing
No matter what you do during the double XP weekend, you should make sure you have a good idea of your stats before starting. If you’re new to Fortnite, you might be surprised by how far ahead of you other players are.
Even if you’re experienced enough to know what you’re doing, you might still find yourself having trouble competing against people with better stats than you. Having a rough idea of where you stand before you start playing will give you a better chance of winning matches.
One way to do this is to use the stats page on the Fortnite website. By clicking on your name, you can see a breakdown of all your stats. From there, you can see which weapons you’re using best, whether you’re a good shot or bad shot, and how many kills you get per minute. Armed with this information, you can start trying to improve your performance.
- Be Organised When Starting A Match
Whether you’re playing solo, duo, squad, or squad skirmish, it’s important to remember that you have a limited time to finish your match.
This isn’t because you don’t have as long as you think, but rather because you only have so many lives. If you die quickly after respawning, you’ll lose any progress you made during the round. As such, it’s vital that you plan out exactly how you’re going to play every round.
For example, if you’re playing solo, you could choose to go all-out and try to kill as many enemies as possible in order to rack up as many points as possible. However, if you’re playing duo, you may prefer to stick together and focus on defending. In either case, it pays to plan ahead and decide how you’re going to win, then stick to that plan.
- Make Sure You Get Enough Kills
As mentioned earlier, the primary goal of the double XP weekend is to gain as many kills as possible. Unfortunately, this doesn’t always mean you’ll earn 100% more XP from a single kill. Instead, the percentage you get depends on two factors:
- The level of your weapon
- How strong your enemies are
To maximise your earnings, it’s worth considering both of these factors. For instance, if you’re playing with a shotgun and your opponents are using rocket launchers, they’re likely to be far stronger than you. In this situation, killing them will net you significantly less XP than if you were playing with a sniper rifle.
On the flip side, if you’re playing with a sniper rifle and your opponents are wielding assault rifles, then you have a distinct advantage. Killing them is almost certain to net you twice as much XP as if you were playing with a shotgun.
- Keep An Eye On Your Health
It goes without saying that your health is your main concern throughout every round. You’ll obviously want to keep your own health topped up while you’re fighting off enemy attacks, but you should also keep an eye on your teammates’ health as well.
The formation of the fortnite account is an easy task. A player just has to enter the main detail that includes the name and the contact information. Not only this even the fortnite account shop is available from where a player can plan to both sale and purchase the account at any time.
A good way to do this is to look at their shields on the map. If you see them losing theirs too often, you can probably guess that your team is struggling. Alternatively, if you notice someone whose shield is staying full despite being regularly attacked, you can assume that they’re taking care of business.
Either way, keeping an eye on your teammates’ health will keep you safe until you can return the favour.
